Transfer Madness

What a crazy summer!!

But, it's good because it's going crazy about people coming in and not about people going out. Unbelievably, there have been 66 players linked to us in June alone! Gone are the days when people used to worry about Stevie or Pepe or Torres going away. The only talk seems to be about people coming in, people not wanting to leave and in worst case, 'who the club wants to sell' rather than 'who the club is trying to convince to stay'.

That said, what's disappointing is that so many of players linked with us have been snapped up by rivals. Personally, I would have liked Young in our red shirt than any other. But so be it. Wickham's non-transfer wasn't a bad deal after all. We already have many promising youngsters. I'd love to see the likes of Pacheco and Sterling getting a go instead of getting another youngster to compete with them and not with the first-teamers.

The European window is now open and the race should really hot up now. The problem areas remain. Wings and Left Back areas are not vacant. Let's see who we get for those.

Another concern remains about offloading the 'deadwood' in the team. Jovanovic, Poulsen, Cole, N'gog, Maxi, Aurelio, Aquilani all awaiting sales. There's talk about Agger being offloaded too. Would be sad to see that happen. Cole and Aqua not living up to their promise is unfortunate too.

Being in India, twitter and other such sites remain a constant source of news and rumours. However, on a personal note, I think we need to shut them somewhat if we don't want to be too worked up by the contradictory reports!

YNWA!
