Why Charlie Adam will be a KOP hero..

I’ll start by saying that I was thrilled with the (eventual) signing of Charlie Adam. God sake we have been after him for ages. I only read about Charlie Adam last year when Blackpool got promoted. It was only in the article at dailymail titled "5 players from promoted teams to look out for" and I snaped him and Caroll up in my fantasy football team. And what a bargain he proved out for £4.5M. He is someone who I believe will take the club to a new level and I have many reasons to believe that he can/will be a new cult hero at ANFIELD.

I’m supporting my argument on a following 5 factors which give me cause for optimism.

1) He wants to play for the club.
Appointment of Kenny has brought a sense of belongings back to the club backyard. He has iterated this fact from the very beginning that players will be signed, but only those who wants to play for the club. We made couple of significant signings last season, but those moves were more geared on financial front rather than players coming in for the love of the club. Now when players comes out in open and says that his heart is all set to play for Liverpool, you have to get him in the team. Not only will Charlie Adam give his 100%, but Kenny will try and strive to get something extra out of him.

2) He is an international, experienced and important team player.
Not only does he qualify in the British quota, he also highlights the fact that he is an important and integral part of Scotland's International Football Team. Moreover, he symbolises a mettle of a good team player. All around the transfer saga, he never complained, nor he felt outraged when Blackpool rejected his transfer request. Like a dutiful son, he understood his responsibility and tried his level best to fulfill most of them. Most important thing about him is that he has the experience of playing in English conditions and that too at the top level as well.

3) His free kicks are worth £10M.
Well hate him or call him a shitpad, Alex Ferguson has seldom been wrong. And if we were to agree with him, then £9M is a bargain. But what I want to convey from his statement is that this guy provides the ammunition to prove that £35M was well spent. He will not only compliment Caroll, but will be a dangerous proposition to contend with when it comes to a dead ball situation. We have lacked the firepower or class of a genuinely good free-kick specialist. Gerrard has his own way, but being a traditionalist I would love a curling kick beating oppositions GK for a goal.

4) We’ve been desperately short of a quality left foot for ages
Well Left side has been a curse for us over the decade or so. We have tried many players but to no avail. I will be foolish to say Adam will solve our left wing problem, because I don't foresee him playing in that position, but my argument is that a left footed playmaker is often useful and better suited to the game. At £9M or so I believe Adam represents a decent addition to the squad and one worth a few extra points over a season, points which could well be the difference between Champions and failure.

5) No Manager chauffers his players to medical
Now don't agree with any of the above enumerated arguments, but a fan can understand the importance of a player when he sees a club manager himself escorting his new signing. Here I am not talking about any ordinary manager, the one mentioned is KING KENNY, a legend at Anfield, one who himself is idolised by any LFC fan. And when King himself takes Charlie Adam for a medical, it strikes out any argument. For that matter any Tom, Dick and Harry fan can have an opinion about some Tom, Dick and Harry player, but, when a legend or our club manager has so much confidence, regards and respect for Adam, he is got to be something special. This guy is here to stay and rock the KOP.

All in all I have confidence and sense of optimism that we will be different and our approach will be different this season. So remember where we were a year ago, remember who’s in charge now, remember that it takes time to rebuild that which took almost 20 years to wreck, and remember that we are still the greatest club on earth with the greatest fans. Remember all of that and give the King a chance to make things right again.
